Intermediate FREEDOMSWING weekend review
Practice all the goodies from the pros!
Service Description
Did you have an amazing time at Freedom Swing this year? There was a lot to absorb, so let's review the workshop material and break it down for a deeper understanding of these more advanced leading and following skills. Goal: We will explore different ways to navigate the slot fluidly with the pros' refined techniques that focus on musicality and improvisation within the dance framework. What does "Intermediate" level entail?: - Complex patterns and variations - More advanced musicality and phrasing - Refined body isolations and connection with your partner What to expect in "Intermediate" instruction: - Combining multiple basic patterns into longer sequences - Practice how to interpret the music more deeply, including syncopation and rhythmic variations - Learn how to creatively adapt moves and transitions based on musical cues and your partner's response Students are welcome to bring their videos from the event! If you did not attend Freedom Swing Dance Challenge the weekend of January 24th, 2025, you may benefit from these lessons. Note that the core material is not Ruth's; this is a review of multiple professional instructors who taught that weekend at the Hilton. Class is catered to dancers in attendance at Freedom Swing. Lessons will study random workshop material from Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. If you're a confident dancer working on subtly communicating complex moves to your partner through body language and subtle weight shifts ... this is the class for you! Please Note: This is not Showcase Division instruction; there are no lifts.
